Acoustic ceiling texture (also known as popcorn texture) was a popular ceiling texture
for about 2 decades and seemed to wain in popularity in the last 2 decades. In addition to being difficult to paint, this
textured surface is also a pain in the neck to clean. For this reason, it's removal has become a higher priority
on a homeowner's wish list in the last 10-15 years. Although a messy undertaking, the reward is worth it to have this
texture removed and replaced by a smoother/updated finish. The newly textured ceiling is not only a breeze to clean, but easy
enough to paint for even the most challenged do-it-youselfer.
